Her: oh you hold grudges... that's what I remember...
Me: Uhm, yes, I think I’m entitled to hold grudges against racists, thank you.
Her: Oh so then that makes you better........... I never said that I hated Native Americans.. that's racist. I just thought they were pretty lame at the moment.
Me: Uhm, no, that's racist, too, honey. If you have one in particular you don't like - bring it up with them, personally. But slandering a whole ethnic group is just plain racist. In big, bold capital letters.
Her: Maybe you should look up the definition of racism... I wasn't referring to a specific individual in general... Well you can say whatever you want. I'm not racist.
Me: Oh, yeah, way to hide behind Webster with technicalities. Way to go there.
Her: I can't be racist because I am one of you people.. well kinda.. just half. No, you should learn the real definition of racism. I would rather be correct with some grounds than none. You're just whimsical guessing on the meaning of racism.
Me: The 'I'm one of you' defense doesn't work either if you're ashamed of yourself. Whatever helps you sleep at night, I guess
